Description:

My summer 2007 schedule was crazy hectic, filled with gigs and gatherings all over Western North America. The event which was the finale was the Symbiosis Gathering in California in September, and this mix reflects a portion of the Sons of Aurora set I played with my partner Norris. The gathering was one of the highlights of my summer and these particular tracks are for me a portal back to that amazing weekend up in the mountains East of San Francisco. The fact that they are all off of the same three labels goes to show that I am a big fan of what Flow, Blue Tunes and Iboga records are up to these days.

This mix is a short one due to the one hour time allowance as it will was featured on Wes Straub's new online radio show 709 Sessions which can be found at: http://www.tribalmixes.org .

Sorry about the multiple postings, for some reason my previous two attempts ended up with empty postings. Grrr..... so now I am doing them one by one. =)

Norris and I had a blast at Motion Notion (Alberta, Canada) this year, the promoter James really out did himself and the weather was INTENSE but made for big adventures for sure.

We are now excited for our dub/glitch set at Shambhala (British Columbia, Canada) on the Beach stage on Saturday, and of course taking part in the Green Moon (Green Sector & Moon Tribe, hello turbo sound rig!!) camp at Burning Man (Nevada, USA) this August... now that's going to be one hot (+50 Celsius, zero humidity is the forecast) and dusty week in the desert. We will be wrapping up our summer festival season this year by playing at the Symbiosis gathering (California, USA) at the end of September so we are feeling very lucky for having so many incredible opportunities to play some tunes for folks.

We are VERY happy with how our set came together for this years Motion Notion festival, so we decided to record it afterwards here at home and post it up for others to enjoy. This year we were wedged between two full-on psy performers, with Wizzy Noise being the act to follow us, so our set was meant to be a roller coaster through driving minimal tech, progressive and full-on psy. Add to that the fact that our set started out with hot dry sky's filled with stars and ended during a MASSIVE rain/thunder storm with tornado warnings for the area in effect... talk about INTENSE!!!! In the end our laptop finally stopped working and our fear was that it had actually shorted out due to the rain but the next day it started up without a hitch which was a HUGE relief. Our goal was to keep everyone engaged, twist a few noodles and not burn people out on the full-on. From all the super-positive feedback I think we managed to kick some ass!! Many of the tracks are killer classics, with a few shinny new ones thrown in, and the overall flow is a bit of a journey so sit back and imagine the thunder clouds closing in from behind, and as the mix ends the rain is coming down with a vengeance and the clouds are swirling with the threat of tornadoes. They don't call us Sons of Aurora for nothing....

How's it goin guys? I just wanna let everyone know that our next party is on February 24th Saturday @ Club Machine. For everyone who attended Thanks for the Glow @ Club Exit you know what a dope party that was. Glowsticking all night and a great vibe. A vibe absent from the NYC scene these days.

On the lineup we have DJ TommyBoy from Philadelphia. I seen this guy in Philly mad times and he rocks it out everytime spittin trance like no other. Very very excited to see him again.

Also from Philadelphia we have lEEdEEmOn who will be droppin Trance and Hardstyle Trance. This guys amazing and I know he'll drop some of the sickest stuff you'll ever hear.

Then we've got our own Hai Lee Chen from NYC. For whoever came to see him with me at Crobar you know he's got skillz. He's a close personal friend of mine and I can tell you that once he starts droppin his Trance and Progressive tracks you won't stop movin.

Kryptum is a nocturne Psychedelic Trance project from Portugal.
Cláudio became interested in electronic music and its production at a young age,and the first experiments were within the Ebm and Industrial genres.
Later he found Psychedelic Trance and its world,which led him to produce it and explore the electronic instruments more seriously,creating Kryptum after similiar projects.
Experimental synths,mechanic percussions and obscure atmospheres are some of the elements featured in this attempt of a different approach to the genre we know.

- SIMIAN [ En Sof ]

Simian,of his name Guilherme Koehler was born in 1985 in Porto,Portugal.
Starting his route in the electronic music area in 1998, he begun to gain a taste for computorized production in that same year using Rebirth.
2001 saw his first approach to the usage of Fruity Loops mainly influenced at the time by Goa Trance and Hard Techno.
After deepening his knowlegde in the more experimental genre of Psychedelic Trance,in 2003 he joined Miguel Enes aka Gordon Shumway in a project known as Lobotomia to explore the full lenght of psychedelia,that gave him a new insight into what the future should be like.
His solo endeavours as Simian began in 2005,with the objective of delivering the most hypnotic gama of Trance,entangled in chaotic jungle driven rythms only he can provide to you.

Deerfield’s is an exquisite 940-acre family-owned wilderness retreat complete with incredible ponds, creeks, apple orchards, forests, wildlife and hiking trails. This is a LEAVE NO TRACE EVENT!!!! Please respect the land and remove everything you bring in (including all trash) when you leave!

Camping is free Friday and Saturday nights, if you are interested in camping Sunday night there is a land usage fee of $20.00 per person. This fee can be paid to the land owners when you are onsite.

Please do not set up any camping or sleeping on the lakeside stage. This is a great place to visit but sleeping there is not permitted.

Gate hours are 3pm til 11pm Friday, 8am til 10pm Saturday. If you need to be let in at anytime other than the gate hours please email Thosepeople@gmail.com to set up a time to meet at the gate.

This is a Rain or Shine event with rustic camping accommodations - bring EVERYTHING you’ll need to survive….there is no re-entry.

Ambrosia's Delights will offer a 4 meal (local handmade and organic ingredients) $30 plan including friday night dinner, sat. brunch, sat. dinner, and Sunday brunch. Meals are available for individual purchases on site for $9 per meal.
